Though dog is supposed to be man’s best friend, they can also become one’s worst enemy if they attack someone. This is especially true if the victim is a child who cannot get away from the attacking animal quickly enough.
This is perhaps what happened in a recent instance of a dog attacking a seven-year-old boy in Louisiana recently. According to the police department, the boy walked up to a chained Pit Bull when it attacked him. The animal was being kept on the property by the victim’s father for a friend.
The child suffered severe injuries on his legs, arms, shoulders and head. In fact, the boy’s father had to hit the animal with a blunt object to stop the attack and pull the boy to safety. He was airlifted to the hospital for medical attention and remained in surgery for a number of hours. The dog’s owner was issued criminal summons and an investigation is ongoing into the incident.
